NHLBI has developed two new In Brief fact sheets, which are
concise versions of the more in depth booklets in the Your
Guide series. The In Briefs featured below focus on high
blood pressure and physical activity, and are the latest
additions to the series. Take a look at these fact sheets
during February, American Heart Month. They make great
handouts for heart health education activities or as personal
reminders of key steps to take !

Learn and Follow the DASH
Eating Plan
High blood pressure affects more than
65 million–or 1 out of every 3–American adults. NHLBI has
developed the In Brief: Your Guide To Lowering Your Blood
Pressure With DASH fact sheet in order to succinctly
communicate the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH)
eating plan and complement the comprehensive Your
Guide booklet. Research shows that high blood pressure
can be prevented–and lowered–by following the DASH eating
plan, which includes eating less salt and sodium.
