In May, health organizations nationwide will be launching educational activities to draw attention to the burden of high blood pressure and the need to improve hypertension control. How are you planning to reach out to the millions of Americans who have high blood pressure but aren't controlling their condition?

The National High Blood Pressure Education Month Web Site is filled with ideas and resources you can use to help people in your area learn about high blood pressure and how to take control of it. All materials are from the National High Blood Pressure Education Program (NHBPEP), and can be reproduced and used in May and throughout the year without further permission.

Does it Matter?

Fifty million Americans have high blood pressure. High blood pressure, especially in older people, dramatically increases stroke, coronary events, heart failure, and death. Click here to find out how your community is affected and how it compares to others in cardiovascular mortality.
