Friday, February 3, 2006 is National Wear Red Day 2006

Join Americans nationwide on Friday, February 3, 2006 to celebrate the third annual National Wear Red Day. Wearing red shows your support for women's heart disease awareness. So take women's health to heart by wearing your Red Dress Pin, the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness. Or show off a favorite red dress, shirt, or tie and help spread the word that heart disease is the #1 killer of American women.

Unfortunately many women do not realize they are at risk for heart disease. That's why the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and its partners sponsor The Heart Truth—a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease. Use The Heart Truth tools below to get ready for National Wear Red Day 2006 and make a difference in women's lives in your community.

Plan a National Wear Red Day Event

To help organizations, individuals, and communities plan and promote National Wear Red Day activities, NHLBI has developed a National Wear Red Day Online Toolkit. This F|R|E|E Online Toolkit will give you many ideas and resources to help you plan an exciting National Wear Red Day activity or event, including:
  • Top Ways to Support National Wear Red Day—Around Town, At Work, and In The Media.
  • Downloadable resources and outreach tools such as promotional Web banners, email alert, newsletter article, newsletter ad, poster/flyer, media alert, press release, official proclamation, and more.
  • Materials you can view online and ordering information. Many are even available for immediate download.
