A National Conference on Asthma 2003 in the
Nation's Capital
Join leading health professionals in
Washington, D.C. for the National Conference on Asthma
2003, sponsored by the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program
(NAEPP) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
The
conference will focus on meeting the challenges of Healthy People 2010 to
increase the quality and years of healthy life and to eliminate health
disparities. Two broad areas of interest - asthma management in primary care
settings and implementation of community-based asthma programs - will drive the
agenda.
Co-chairs for the conference will be:
- William W. Busse, M.D., Professor of Medicine at the
University of Wisconsin Medical School
- Barbara P. Yawn, M.D., M.Sc., Director of Research at the
Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota
The
goals of the conference will be to:
- Promote Asthma Awareness
- Diagnose and Manage Asthma
- Implement Community Asthma Programs and Policies
- Prevent Recurrent Exacerbations of Asthma
