Does Extra Weight Put Men in the Risk Zone for Cardiovascular Disease?
Check Out the Body Mass Index Calculator (BMI) and Weight Loss Tips

Overweight and obesity are very common among American men, affecting close to 68 percent of men age 20-74.

Being overweight (BMI 25.0 - 29.9) puts men at increased risk for type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Being obese (BMI of 30.0 or more) puts men at even higher risk for the same diseases.

The Body Mass Index Calculator can help someone you care about see where they stand. They can then click on Assessing Your Risk and continue on with the many helpful weight loss tip sheets to read or download.

These handouts also exist in print format as Highlights for Patients from the Practical Guide for the Identification, Evaluation, and Treatment of Overweight and Obesity in Adults.

Order item #55-909. $1.25 each, 25 copies $15, 100 copies $50.
