Three Easy
Things You Can Do to Make National
Wear Red Day (February 4) a
Success.
As you probably know, on Friday, February
4, 2005, Americans nationwide will celebrate the second annual
National Wear Red Day by wearing their favorite red dress, shirt,
tie, or the Red Dress Pin to show their support for women's heart
disease awareness.
As a Health Information Network member,
we urge you to take women's health to heart by spreading the word
that heart disease is the #1 killer of American women. Here are
three suggested simple activities to get you started. Order by
January 20, 2005, to receive your items in time for National Wear
Red Day.
 |
1. Hand out 25 or more Red Dress Pins.
(If you do, we'll pay the shipping charges and give you a
30% discount off the regular price.)
No outfit for National Wear Red Day is quite complete
without a Red Dress pin—the national symbol for women and
heart disease awareness.

2. Give a talk on The Heart
Truth.
The Heart Truth Speaker's Kit Makes it Easy
This kit includes a compelling 15-minute video that
features women telling their own stories about how heart
disease changed their lives. For the rest of the talk, we've
included your speaker's notes, overheads, a poster to announce
the talk, and even downloadable PowerPoint slides. This talk
has been given by women's clubs, corporate settings, senior
centers, and business clubs, with rave reviews. Order
item #KT-020. $12.50 each.

3. Put up posters in your office or waiting
room.
Make a Fashion Statement
The "Real Women Wear Red" poster conveys the message that
Heart Disease Doesn't Care What You Wear/Al Corazon No Le
Importa Como Te Vistes. Great for public awareness. English on
one side, Spanish on the other.
