We
Can! Community Resources

our communities? NHLBI and three other Institutes of the National
Institutes of Health (NIH) are collaborating to spread the word that
We Can! help parents improve children's
health. There are many ways to get involved in We
Can! at the community level. Check out a few ideas and
supporting materials we've described below to get started!
For a refresher on We Can!, see

Portion Distortion
The fact
that food portions have increased is no surprise. But,
do you really know how much they have increased in terms
of calories, or how much physical activity you need to
do to burn up those calories? Use the portion distortion
slides during a We Can!
parents curriculum session or at a community event to
answer these questions in a fun way.
