Let's visit NHLBI's Diseases and Conditions Index (DCI). Even if you're already familiar with the DCI, it's a great time to take another look at recent updates, animations, and illustrations. The DCI now has 72 topics! There is even a new section on Tests and Procedures with 13 topics such as, Echocardiography, Stress Testing, Pacemakers, and Stents.

See How the Heart Works with New Animations

Now you can visualize blood flow and heart movements through two new animations in How the Heart Works –in the sections titled Heart Contraction and Blood Flow and Your Heart’s Electrical System. The second one is a great way to see where the electrical impulses flow, what parts of the heart are moving at various points in the electrical cascade, and how each event corresponds to a tracing on the electrocardiogram.
