Email Signature Message

Individuals can inform coworkers and business associates about high blood pressure via email. In minutes, you can create an email signature message that encourages your email recipients to learn about high blood pressure and get their blood pressure checked. Publications about high blood pressure on the NHLBI Web Site can be used to get the facts. You can use these facts in your signature message.

How to create a signature message

You can create a signature message by following the steps below:

  • Open your email account
  • Click on "Options"
  • Click on "Signature"
  • Type your signature message
  • Click on "Add signature"

If you do not have an "Options" link, then use the "Help" tab and type "Signature" in the Search box. Instructions for creating a signature will appear. For example, the following instructions appear in Microsoft Outlook:

  • From the main Microsoft Outlook window, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
  • In the Compose in this message format list, click the message format that you want to use the signature with.
  • Under Signature, click Signatures, and then click New.
  • In the Enter a name for your new signature box, enter a name.
  • Under Choose how to create your signature, select the option you want.
  • Click Next.
  • In the Signature text box, type the text you want to include in the signature. You can also paste text to this box from another document.
  • To change the paragraph or font format, select the text, click Font or Paragraph, and then select the options you want. These options are not available if you use plain text as your message format.
  • Click Finish when you are done editing the new signature.

  • "May is... National High Blood Pressure Education Month. Does it seem like an impossible mission to control your high blood pressure? Check out Preventing and Controlling High Blood Pressure: Mission Possible at http://hp2010.nhlbihin.net/mission/partner/should_know.pdf."

  • "Protect Your Heart! Take steps to prevent or control your high blood pressure. For additional information, visit Protect Your Heart! Prevent High Blood Pressure at
    http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/other/chdblack/protect1.htm."
